Vertically Ribbed Ear Warmer Pattern

It you’re looking for a simple hat alternative than look no further than this vertically crochet ribbed ear warmer pattern. It works up quick and easy and can be worked up using leftover yarn from your stash.

I made mine in a solid color, but this stitch pattern makes it easy to add in one or two stripes of a different yarn. The more colors you add the more outfits it will match.

Finished Size

This ribbed ear warmer pattern is given in one size only to fit adult large.

However, in a multiple of 8, you can increase or decrease this to any size you want from baby to adult.

As for the width, you can customize that by the number of repeats you do of Rnd 2.

Use this ear warmer size chart as a reference if you want to make a different size.

The Yarn

I used Red Heart Comfort, an aran weight yarn. It’s a #4 worsted acrylic yarn. It is economic, easy to wash, and softens with each wash!

Because it’s so easy to adjust this in size, you can basically use any yarn and hook size that you have on hand.

The Pattern

This ribbed texture is worked simply with double crochet and front post double crochet stitches.

The pattern takes a bit of concentration for the first round, and after that it’s pretty mindless as the dc’s are worked into the dc’s of previous round, and the fpdc are worked into the fpdc.
